Meta Platforms has announced that it will not sign up to the EU's proposed new code of best practice for artificial intelligence, accusing Brussels of overreach.

Although the code is voluntary, it is a step towards the AI Act regulations passed by the European Parliament. Other big companies such as ASML and Airbus have joined the protest, calling for its implementation to be delayed.
