Mercedes-Benz's decision to suspend orders for its EQ models comes against a difficult backdrop, marked by recent legislative changes that have reduced tax credits for electric vehicles. This is affecting demand and the pace of electrification expected by 2025. CEO Ola Källenius remains optimistic about the long-term adoption of electric vehicles in the US, although the company is adjusting its strategy, planning to launch 19 models with thermal engines and 17 electric by 2027. This reflects the challenges in the transition to electric mobility.
