Dmitri Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, stated that the acceptance by U.S. President Donald Trump of the discussion regarding the 10-point plan proposed by Iran represents a success for Tehran. Medvedev emphasized that, although the discussion is a step forward, it remains to be seen whether Washington will accept the conditions, which include compensation for Iran, the continuation of the nuclear program, and Tehran's control over the Strait of Hormuz.
On Tuesday, Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran, following a proposal from Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Iranian state television reported that Tehran has imposed 10 conditions for the ceasefire, including the cancellation of sanctions and the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the region.
Sharif invited delegations from Iran and the U.S. to negotiations on April 10 in Islamabad to reach a final agreement. The U.S. delegation will include Vice President J.D. Vance and other high-ranking officials.
