The MAX messaging app, launched by VK, has registered 50 million users, with an average daily coverage of over 19 million in October, reaching a peak of 22.5 million on October 22. Since its launch, users have sent 3.7 billion messages and made 842 million calls. MAX allows communication through messages, voice and video calls, and file transfers of up to 4 GB. The Kremlin announced that starting September 1, 2025, the MAX app will become mandatory on all mobile devices sold in Russia, replacing VK Messenger. This change comes in the context of restrictions imposed on international messaging apps like WhatsApp and Telegram.
