Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney clarified that he has not retracted his statements made at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he suggested that President Trump has created an irrevocable 'break' in the global order. In a press conference, Carney emphasized that he had serious discussions with Trump about changes in U.S. trade policy and warned middle powers to unite against the economic aggression of the American president. Carney also mentioned that the Canadian government recently concluded a trade agreement with China, which was initially praised by Trump, but later he threatened tariffs on Canadian goods. Carney emphasized that his country has no plans to negotiate a broader free trade agreement with China and highlighted the importance of expanding trade with other countries, such as India.
