The leader of the French far-right, Marine Le Pen, stated that she does not foresee a Frexit, but will seek to change the political orientations of the European Union if she wins the presidential elections in 2027. During a campaign event, Le Pen emphasized that, although she criticizes the current policies in France, she does not intend to leave the European Union. Awaiting a court decision regarding her appeal against a ban on holding public office, Le Pen could run to succeed Emmanuel Macron; otherwise, she will hand over the baton to Jordan Bardella. Both Le Pen and Bardella are considered favorites in polls for winning the Elysee Palace, with the exception of Edouard Philippe, who would have strong chances in the second round.
