Maia Sandu and Sergio Mattarella had an official meeting at the Quirinale Palace, where they discussed economic cooperation and Italy's support for Moldova on its European path. They discussed topics such as the Moldovan community in Italy and the approval of the bilateral agreement on social protection, which provides pensions for Moldovans who have worked in Italy. An agreement on the conversion of Moldovan driving licenses was also signed. Bilateral relations have improved significantly in recent years, with Italian financial support of around €90 million for Moldova.
