Madrid has launched the first autonomous bus manufactured in Spain, with 12 seats, which operates for free until October 24 in the Casa de Campo park. The pilot project, carried out by the Municipal Transport Company and the Automotive Technological Center of Galicia, aims to test the technology in real conditions and address the shortage of professional drivers in Europe. The electric bus, equipped with sensors and an advanced autonomous driving system, operates on a circular route of 1.8 km, having a safety operator on board. The project does not aim to replace drivers, but to improve the efficiency of public transport.
