The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, stated that the two-week ceasefire between the USA and Iran is a 'very good thing', but emphasized that it must also be applied in Lebanon, in the context of Israeli attacks in the region. During a meeting of the Defense Council, Macron described the situation in Lebanon as critical, stating that Israel's attacks do not represent an adequate response.

He expressed hope that the ceasefire will be respected throughout the region, facilitating negotiations for a lasting solution to the nuclear and regional issues related to Iran. Lebanon has been involved in the conflict in the Middle East after Hezbollah attacked Israel in response to the elimination of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, and Israeli forces retaliated with attacks and ground incursions, causing the death of over 1,500 people.

Macron condemned these attacks and called for negotiations between Israel and Lebanon, accusing the Israeli army of intimidating French forces in the UN peacekeeping mission. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif supported the ceasefire, suggesting the inclusion of Lebanon in the cessation of violence, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the agreement does not apply to Lebanon.
