The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, thanked Romania, Croatia, Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia for the support provided in the wildfire extinguishing missions in France, where nearly 200,000 people have been evacuated. Macron emphasized European solidarity in times of crisis and thanked the national intervention forces for their efforts.

The fires have led to the largest peacetime evacuation in the history of France, particularly affecting the Bordeaux area.

The President mentioned the involvement of the A400M aircraft in firefighting operations and promised the reconstruction of the affected areas. He also brought up the similar situation in Spain, where 70,000 people were evacuated, emphasizing that his thoughts are directed towards other countries affected by fires.
