Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, stated that the war in Ukraine represents a triple failure for Russia: military, economic, and strategic.
In a message posted on X, he highlighted the devastating impact of the conflict, which has led to the destruction of cities, schools, and hospitals, as well as the loss of 15,000 Ukrainian civilian lives in four years. Macron reaffirmed France's solidarity with Ukraine, emphasizing that it is the first line of defense for Europe. He also promised to maintain sanctions against the Russian economy and actions against the phantom fleet.
On the same day, European leaders visited Kyiv, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, to mark the anniversary of the Russian invasion, highlighting the severity of the conflict, which has caused hundreds of thousands of deaths and changed European geopolitics.
