The incident occurred after Emmanuel Macron's speech at the UN headquarters, when he was stopped on a street in New York to allow the official convoy of Donald Trump to pass. A police officer explained to him that traffic was blocked, and Macron took the opportunity to contact Trump by phone, humorously mentioning the situation he was in. After a while, pedestrian traffic was cleared, allowing Macron to continue his way to the French embassy.
