The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, will have a meeting on Monday with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in Paris, according to an announcement from the Élysée Palace. This meeting takes place in the context of a team of Ukrainian negotiators being in the United States to discuss a new American plan for resolving the conflict with Russia. The two leaders will address the conditions for a just and lasting peace, continuing previous discussions in Geneva and collaborating with European partners. Additionally, progress regarding the security guarantees offered to Ukraine will be evaluated. While the United States seeks approval from allies for the peace plan, Ukraine expresses concerns that it may be forced to make significant concessions. The French Foreign Minister emphasized that Russia must accept a ceasefire or face severe economic sanctions. Furthermore, Zelensky will be accompanied by the First Lady, Olena Zelenska, who will participate in an event dedicated to the initiative for Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. This initiative has managed to bring nearly 2,000 children back to their families.
