The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, expressed their opposition to the European Union's plan to create migrant return centers outside the community bloc.

At a recent summit, 19 European leaders signed a declaration supporting the use of a new law to build these centers, promoted by Denmark and Italy. Macron emphasized that this approach contradicts European values and has not proven effective in the past, bringing into discussion the lack of success of the migration centers in Albania. He also warned that the transfer of migrants to third countries, an option allowed by the new legislation, could affect human rights. Sánchez characterized these camps as inefficient and wasteful, highlighting the need to collaborate with countries of origin and transit.
