Maria Machado, a lawyer and mother of three children, stated that she intends to return to Venezuela as soon as possible, after receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, which she dedicated to Donald Trump. In an interview, she claimed that she won the 2024 elections by a landslide majority, but under fraudulent conditions, emphasizing that free elections could bring over 90% of the votes. Machado criticized the US administration for its lack of support and mentioned that, before organizing the elections, the country's issues must be resolved, considering a 30-day deadline for voting unrealistic. She also criticized Delcy Rodriguez, the interim president, for her ties to Maduro and her actions of persecution. Machado avoided providing details about her repatriation, considering that she is being sought in view of arrest in Venezuela.
