The U.S. Department of the Treasury has announced the extension of the deadline for Lukoil, until February 28, to sell its foreign assets.

This is the second extension of the license, following the one in December, and comes as a result of the sanctions imposed by Donald Trump on October 22, aimed at pressuring Russia to stop its aggression against Ukraine. Additionally, the sanctions for Lukoil Bulgaria have been postponed until April 29. Lukoil, which entered the US market in 2000, is a major player in fuel distribution, having an extensive network of gas stations in various countries, including Romania and Bulgaria. The company previously owned over 1,000 gas stations in the US.
