Hundreds of Romanians abroad are facing uncertainties regarding their return home for Easter due to a strike by Lufthansa employees, which has led to the cancellation of over 20 flights.
Air traffic between Romania and Germany is severely affected, with canceled flights on routes to the company's main hubs, Frankfurt and Munich.
The strike is part of a labor dispute related to wages and working conditions, and the unions accuse the lack of progress in negotiations, while Lufthansa considers the protest an excessive measure. Although the company estimates that some flights will be operated, passengers are advised to check the status of their flights and to contact the airline for rescheduling or compensation, according to current regulations. This situation affects not only Romania but also hundreds of flights from other countries.
