Lithuania, along with Poland and the other Baltic states, is fortifying its borders with Russia and Belarus with a complex defense plan. It includes a 48km defense strip with minefields, bridges ready for demolition and obstacles inspired by Ukrainian techniques. The project, dubbed the 'Baltic defense line', is aimed at slowing down a possible Russian invasion, given the vulnerabilities in the region. Lithuania has started work on fortifications, including 'engineering parks', and is upgrading its military equipment, with a high defence budget.
