The third tunnel used for illegal migration, discovered at the border between Lithuania and Belarus

The Lithuanian authorities announced on Wednesday the discovery of a new, unfinished tunnel dug under the fence at the border with Belarus, at a depth of approximately 1.5 meters.

This tunnel, reinforced with tree trunks and planks, was identified with the help of electronic equipment by the border police. Lithuania has accused Belarus, an ally of Russia, of organizing migrant trafficking as part of a hybrid warfare tactic, and in response, has built a fence at the Belarusian border.

Two other tunnels have already been discovered under the border between Belarus and Lithuania in recent weeks.
