The Democratic Party's Lee Jae-myung has been declared the winner of South Korea's presidential election, with 51.7% of the vote, according to exit polls. His main rival Kim Moon-soo got 39.3%. The elections were held after the ouster of former president Yoon Suk Yeol and the atmosphere was celebratory for Lee's supporters, in contrast to the silence from members of the People's Power Party.
