Mohammad Sarur, targeted by US sanctions for his involvement in money transfers from Iran to Hamas, was found dead near Beirut. He worked for financial institutions of Hamas ally Hezbollah. The US Treasury accused Sarur of facilitating the transfer of millions of dollars from al-Quds Force through Hezbollah to Hamas.
