Kimberly Guilfoyle, the United States ambassador to Greece, rejected the recent allegations made against her and suggested that her diplomatic tenure is nearing its end. The statement was published on the X platform on October 13, 2026, amid reports that the White House had asked her to resign.
Guilfoyle did not specify the nature of the allegations, but stated that they were false and that she would defend her name, reputation, and integrity “firmly.” She emphasized that she would not allow the allegations to define her decades of public service.
In the message, the ambassador also presented the main results she attributes to her tenure. These include agreements to expand U.S. exports of liquefied natural gas to Europe, the development of the Vertical Corridor, and the strengthening of defense cooperation with Greece, a NATO ally.
The Vertical Corridor aims to transport gas imported through Greece to Central and Eastern Europe, including via Romania’s infrastructure, in order to reduce dependence on Russian energy. Guilfoyle reaffirmed her support for Donald Trump and the “America First” agenda, while also thanking the Greek people for their hospitality and cooperation.
