Kim Kardashian and her stylist, Simone Harouche, have received symbolic damages following the armed robbery carried out in Paris in 2016 during Fashion Week. The French court’s decision comes after eight people involved in the attack were convicted last year.
Kardashian received one euro, the amount requested by the celebrity, while Simone Harouche, who was present in the apartment at the time of the robbery, received the same sum. The court also awarded 109,516 euros to a former receptionist at the Hôtel de Pourtalès, whose lawyer said he had been traumatized by the incident, and 50,000 euros to the hotel.
In a joint statement sent to the Associated Press, Kardashian and Harouche described the experience as “deeply traumatic” and said the decision was not about compensation, but about accountability and recognition of their suffering.
On the night of October 2, 2016, two attackers dressed as police officers entered the celebrity’s apartment, restrained her and stole jewelry worth more than six million dollars, including a diamond ring. The six robbers, aged between 60 and 70, were dubbed the “grandpa robbers.” Their sentences had already been served in pretrial detention.
