Mojtaba Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, announced on Saturday that the Iranian nation demands revenge for the assassination of his father, the former supreme leader, following the American-Israeli attacks.
In a message published on his Telegram channel, Khamenei emphasized that revenge is a "demand of the nation" and promised that it "will certainly happen." He made these statements after the funeral of his father, who was assassinated at the end of February, and accused the "criminal and shameful assassins" for their actions. Khamenei mentioned that the names of those targeted appear on a "list" and expressed gratitude to the millions of people who attended the funeral.
In an international context, the Trump administration urged Iran to recognize the opening of the Strait of Hormuz for navigation and to cease attacks on commercial vessels, warning that there could be "serious consequences" if Iran does not commit to this.
