These substances, necessary in the industry, can damage refinery equipment. The BTC pipeline, which is 1,768 kilometers long and managed by BP, helps Kazakhstan avoid dependence on Russia for energy exports. In the first eight months of the year, Kazakhstan transported 0.9 million tons of oil via BTC.
