KazMunaiGas announced the resumption of oil deliveries from Kazakhstan via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline on September 13, after a suspension caused by the detection of organic chlorides in Azerbaijani oil. These substances, necessary in the industry, can damage refinery equipment. The BTC pipeline, which is 1,768 kilometers long and managed by BP, helps Kazakhstan avoid dependence on Russia for energy exports. In the first eight months of the year, Kazakhstan transported 0.9 million tons of oil via BTC.
