Kazakhstan criticized Ukraine for a drone attack on the Black Sea terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which manages over 1% of global oil. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan protested against this attack, considering it a deliberate aggression against critical infrastructure, protected by international law.
The attack led to the suspension of CPC operations, significantly affecting the functioning of the Single Point Mooring 2 facility, essential for loading oil. Kazakhstan, an OPEC+ member, relies on CPC for about 80% of its oil exports. In the context of the conflict, Russia accused Ukraine of terrorism, while Ukraine claims that its attacks are justified in defense of national interests.
