The President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, accused Russia of supplying Iran with information and drones to target and kill Americans in the Middle East. Before the G7 meeting, Kallas emphasized that to stop the war in the region, the U.S. must pressure Moscow. The Kremlin dismissed the accusations, calling them "lies." Kallas mentioned that Russia benefits from rising oil prices, driven by U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran, which has led to the highest export revenues from oil since the invasion of Ukraine.
Kallas also called on the U.S. to increase support for Ukraine, highlighting the link between the two conflicts. The European Union also expresses concern that Ukraine could be pressured to cede territories in negotiations with Russia, which Kallas considers a trap. Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that the U.S. conditions security guarantees on the cession of the Donbas region.
