Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov reacted vehemently after a Ukrainian drone struck an iconic skyscraper in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya, causing significant damage but no casualties. In a post on Telegram, Kadyrov described the attack as "tactically senseless" and threatened an imminent retaliation, emphasizing that it would only target strategic and military sites. He promised that starting tomorrow, "Ukrainian fascists" would feel a harsh response, but insisted that he would not carry out attacks on civilians. The incident occurred on December 5 and particularly affected the 28th floor of the tower in the Grozny City complex, a symbol of the region's post-war reconstruction. The drone was initially directed towards the FSB headquarters but was diverted by Russian jamming systems. Grozny City houses important regional institutions and is located just 830 meters from Kadyrov's residence.
