The former king of Spain, Juan Carlos, denied rumors of an alleged relationship with Princess Diana, which surfaced in the 1980s when she spent vacations with the British royal family in Mallorca. In his memoirs, titled "Reconciliation," which will be published on November 5, the former monarch describes the Princess of Wales as "cold, taciturn, and distant, except for the presence of paparazzi."
The statements come after decades of speculation fueled by the closeness between the two and Diana's marital issues with King Charles III. According to biographer Andrew Morton, the princess reportedly acknowledged that the Spanish king had shown himself to be "a bit too attentive" towards her, although she emphasized that nothing happened between them.
