Joheirry Mola, representative of the Dominican Republic, won the Miss World title in the final held on September 5 at 2 April Square in Nha Trang, Vietnam, bringing the crown back to her country after 44 years.

The victory marks the second edition won by the Dominican Republic in the history of the competition.

Mola received the crown from Opal Suchata Chuangsri, the representative of Thailand and the previous titleholder. Elisabeth Reynés of Spain placed second, while Taanusiya Chetty of Malaysia came in third.

The new Miss World graduated in Business Management and Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana and works in education and communications. She teaches literature and social studies in English and leads the organization Voices of Tomorrow, through which she supports access to English-language education for children and young people from vulnerable communities.

In the final stage, Mola spoke about the role of education in creating opportunities and about the experience she gained through her social project.

The Dominican Republic's first crown was won in 1982 by Mariasela Álvarez.

The anniversary edition, which marked 75 years of Miss World, brought together 111 contestants from countries and territories across the globe. The competition was hosted by Vietnam for the first time, while Romania was not among the 40 contestants who qualified for the quarterfinals.
