The financier Jeffrey Epstein, known for his illegal activities, rented six storage spaces in various locations across the U.S. to hide his personal archive from authorities, according to the British publication The Telegraph. Documents obtained by the newspaper show that Epstein hired private detectives to remove computers and other materials from his home in Florida and from his private island in the Caribbean, in an attempt to conceal them from investigators.

One of these storage units was rented in Florida since 2003, and payments continued until 2019, the year of his death. Also, in the mid-2000s, after learning about a possible raid, Epstein paid considerable sums to move the archive to a secret storage facility in New York. Investigators did not conduct searches in these spaces, raising questions about the existence of unexamined materials in his case file. The fate of the hidden archive remains uncertain.
