J.D. Vance and Marco Rubio landed at Milan Malpensa Airport, leading an American delegation to the opening ceremony of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, scheduled for February 6. The delegation, made up of former Olympic medalists and high-ranking officials, arrived on 14 planes, including 3 cargo planes for transporting food and armored vehicles. Approximately 300 agents are dedicated to the protection of Vance and his family. Among the members of the delegation are the Lamoureux twins, Apolo Ohno, and Evan Lysacek. Vance continues the tradition of American vice presidents participating in the Olympics, and after the event, he will travel to Armenia and Azerbaijan for peace negotiations. The opening ceremony will take place at the 'San Siro' stadium in Milan, under strict security measures, with 6,000 agents mobilized. Organizers have neutralized cyberattacks attributed to Russian hackers.
