The President of Argentina, Javier Milei, made a surprising decision, announcing that he will not fly to the United States to support the national team in the World Cup final.
Instead of being present in the official box, Milei will watch the match from his residence in Olivos, due to a superstition he considers crucial for the team's success. Although Argentina had a dramatic qualification for the final, Milei decided not to change his ritual, which includes watching the matches dressed in a jacket that he will not take off, convinced that it brings bad luck to the team.
Additionally, the president promised that, in the event Argentina wins, the players will be able to celebrate at Casa Rosada, ensuring that they will not be disturbed. This tradition of not being present at the World Cup finals was also maintained by his predecessor, Alberto Fernández.
