In a new bout of extreme heat, Japan on Tuesday reported a record high temperature of 41.8°C in the city of Isesaki, beating the previous record of 41.2°C. Meteorologists warn of the link between climate change and intensifying extremes, and farmers fear poor harvests due to drought.
