Japan has called for the evacuation of 89 residents on Akuseki Island due to a 5.5-magnitude earthquake, part of a series of more than 1,000 recent quakes.

Following a 5.5-magnitude earthquake, Japan has evacuated 89 residents from Akuseki Island, which has been hit by more than 1,000 earthquakes in the past two weeks. Authorities are warning of the risk of house subsidence and landslides, but there is no danger of tsunami. Japan, located on the edge of the Pacific Ring of Fire, is experiencing intense seismic activity and is bracing for potentially devastating earthquakes in the future.
