The Italian competition authority (AGCM) has launched an investigation against Meta Platforms, accusing the company of abusing its dominant position by integrating its AI assistant, Meta AI, into WhatsApp without users' consent. This could harm competitors and drive users to Meta's services. The AGCM is working with the European Commission, and Meta said its AI service benefits users. Companies that break EU rules can be fined up to 10% of global turnover.
