Israel Katz, the Israeli Minister of Defense, issued a stern warning to Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, emphasizing that Lebanon will "pay the price" for its failure to disarm Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group.

Katz mentioned that Lebanon had promised to adhere to the disarmament agreement, but this has not been realized. In the event that Israel has to choose between protecting its own civilians and soldiers or the Lebanese state, the Lebanese government will bear the consequences. Although Aoun has committed to restoring the army's monopoly on weapons in Lebanon, Hezbollah continues to operate, including through attacks on Israel. Israel has responded with strikes across the country, including in Beirut and Tripoli. Katz stated that Israel has no territorial claims in Lebanon, but will not tolerate attacks from it. He urged Lebanon to act before it is too late.
