Israeli Defense Minister warns Tehran: “We will strike all infrastructure and return Iran to the Stone Age”

Israel Katz warned that any Iranian attack on Israel would trigger an extensive military reprisal that could target all of the Tehran regime’s infrastructure, including energy infrastructure. The statement was made at a reception organized with employees of the Ministry of Defense, before the beginning of the major Jewish holidays, reports the Times of Israel.

Katz argued that the economic pressure exerted on Iran and fears of a revolt or the collapse of the regime could lead the Iranian authorities to resort to “desperate measures.” In this context, the minister said that an attack on Israel would remove the restrictions that the Israeli military currently imposes on itself. “We will strike all infrastructure – including energy infrastructure – and return Iran to the Stone Age and darkness,” Katz said. He added that Israel is prepared both defensively and offensively for any scenario.

The warning comes ahead of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, which begins on the evening of September 11, followed by Yom Kippur on the evening of September 20. Katz previously said that Iran might try to take advantage of the holiday period, without confirming, however, the existence of intelligence regarding a planned attack. The message therefore serves as a deterrent, but also indicates the possibility of a major escalation in the event of Iranian aggression.
