The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, stated that his country does not consider itself obligated to respect the clause in the peace agreement between the USA and Iran regarding Lebanon.

During a meeting with American President Donald Trump, Netanyahu emphasized that Israel will not accept restrictions on its actions against Hezbollah. The Israel Defense Forces will remain in their current positions and will continue to counter threats from Hezbollah, an organization supported by Iran.

The dispute arose after the announcement of a peace agreement between the USA and Iran, aimed at stopping military operations in Lebanon. Israel believes it must maintain the freedom to strike Hezbollah to protect communities in the north. Within the cabinet, it was agreed that Israel must respond forcefully in Lebanon, not in Iran, to avoid damaging relations with the USA.

Ministers discussed the need to deter Iran and Hezbollah through decisive actions, emphasizing that Israel is not a protectorate and must defend its interests without compromises.
