Israel has launched a major military operation in the Gaza Strip to pressure Hamas to release hostages, destroying the militant group's facilities and tunnels

The Israeli-led Operation Gideon Chariots aims to reduce Hamas influence in Gaza and free hostages. Defense Minister Israel Katz has ordered the IDF to conquer and secure Hamas-controlled territories. During the action, Israeli forces eliminated dozens of terrorists and destroyed a 2km tunnel. Hamas has offered the partial release of hostages in exchange for a temporary truce and Israel is working to establish humanitarian aid zones. Missiles from Yemen were also intercepted and Israel responded with attacks on Houthi enemies.
