Israel has asked the International Criminal Court to quash arrest warrants issued for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in the context of an investigation into alleged war crimes in Gaza. The court is considering challenges to the jurisdiction and legality of the warrants. Israel has also requested the suspension of the prosecution's investigation. The ICC issued the warrants on Nov. 21, 2024, and in February withdrew another warrant for Hamas leader Ibrahim al-Masri after reports emerged of his death.
