This decision was influenced by the detection of unidentified drones on the trajectory of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's plane during his visit to Dublin. Interior Minister Helen McEntee detailed the plan, which includes upgrading radar systems, acquiring new aircraft, and enhancing the protection capabilities of submarine cables. Anti-drone technology will become operational next summer, and Ireland will take over the rotating presidency of the European Union. The drone incident has been interpreted as part of hybrid attacks from Russia, and authorities continue to investigate these suspicious activities.
