Nahid Taghavi has been released from prison in Iran and returned to Germany after more than four years in detention. The release followed concerns about her health and calls for her human rights. Taghavi had been detained in 2020 during a visit to Tehran and subsequently sentenced to 10 years and eight months in prison.
