Iran has warned that its response to any new threats from the US will be "devastating," in the context of Washington announcing the most severe financial sanctions in history to overthrow the Iranian leadership.
The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Ali Abdollahi, emphasized that the Iranian armed forces are prepared to respond forcefully to enemy threats.
The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, stated that the US cannot win a direct military confrontation and called for the development of plans to cope with the sanctions.
While oil prices have slightly decreased, the sanctions imposed by the US risk worsening the economic situation in Iran, which is already facing inflation and energy shortages. Iran has promised that it will not yield to external pressures, and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that the response will be decisive. In this context, the US sanctions are perceived as a threat not only to Iran but also to the stability of the region, considering the impact on Gulf allies.
