Iran reacted vehemently to statements by the British ambassador to the US, who backed the American initiative to ban uranium enrichment in Iran, which Tehran considers a red line. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that if the UK continues on this path, there is no reason to discuss the nuclear program. Iran has maintained commitments with the Europeans but refuses to give up its peaceful nuclear program without lifting sanctions.
