The Guardians of the Revolution in Iran announced that they have dismantled a spy network associated with the intelligence services of the United States and Israel, accusing it of aiming to undermine national security. According to the statement, the network was made up of "deceived and traitorous elements" recruited to carry out hostile actions.
This operation was said to be a reaction to the military defeat suffered by Iran during the 12-day conflict with Israel in June. Although no details were provided about the number of arrests or the identity of those involved, it is mentioned that over a thousand Iranians died in this war, and Iran executed at least 15 detainees for espionage in favor of Mossad. Tehran claims that, despite the losses, it had a winning cause in the conflict.
