At the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, the director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), confirmed an intensification of activity at the Yongbyon nuclear complex in North Korea, indicating a significant increase in the nuclear weapons production capabilities of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Estimates suggest that Pyongyang's nuclear program could include several dozen warheads.

Grossi mentioned monitoring a new building at Yongbyon, similar to uranium enrichment facilities, with satellite images suggesting that it is nearing completion. He also emphasized that there is no evidence that Russia is providing military nuclear technology to North Korea, with cooperation between the two countries being limited to civilian nuclear projects. Grossi warned that the development of nuclear weapons will not bring security but could lead to their proliferation.
