In an interview with podcaster Tucker Carlson, the U.S. ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, stated that Israel has a biblical right to take control of the entire Middle East or, at the very least, a significant part of it. Huckabee discussed interpretations of biblical texts from the Old Testament, asserting that Israel is a territory given by God to the Jewish people through Abraham. Although he acknowledged that he is not sure Israel would extend control over all the mentioned territories, he stated that it would be acceptable for Israel to take a large part of this territory.

The interview was conducted in Israel, in the context of controversies related to Carlson's treatment at the airport in Tel Aviv, which Israeli officials stated was normal. Huckabee, who represents a pro-Israel conservative position, was supported by former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, who criticized Carlson's statements.
