The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), a major organization for LGBTQ rights, has announced a $15 million investment to mobilize voters in key districts and battleground states in 2026. The goal is to increase the number of LGBTQ members in Congress and to support pro-equality candidates. HRC is targeting eight districts in the House of Representatives, including those of Republican Rob Bresnahan and Mike Lawler, where previous elections were decided by just 157,000 votes. Additionally, HRC is focusing its efforts on the Senate race in Ohio, where former Senator Sherrod Brown is a strong candidate. HRC President Kelley Robinson emphasizes that LGBTQ voters are more motivated than ever to make their voices heard. Despite Donald Trump's attempts to present himself as a supporter of the LGBTQ community, his administration has been marked by attacks on transgender rights. HRC aims to transform grassroots energy into electoral power, mobilizing the 74 million voters to gain a majority in Congress.
