The attack took place in the Red Sea and the vessel was targeted while carrying about 22,000 tons of fertilizer. The crew was safely evacuated, but the fertilizer cargo could spill into the sea. US Central Command destroyed seven Houthi rebel anti-ship missiles before they were launched.
